The PTA are encouraging everyone in and aroun Pencaitland to take part in this month’s Fun Run. It’s in aid of Pencaitland Playgroup and the PTA. Both are very worthy causes and it will be a great excuse to get out and enjoy the countryside…
The Christmas Fair Team was delighted at the support shown by the community for the Annual Christmas Fair, which this year raised funds for the Church’s Wind and Watertight Appeal.

As part of Pencaitland Parish Church’s efforts to raise much needed funds for repairs to the building, church members have organised a Silent Auction on Saturday the 12th of November in Pencaitland Bowling Club.
As many villagers will know, parts of Pencaitland Parish Church are in a parlous state. In an effort to address the problems before they get any worse members of the church, along with David Torrance, have launched a programme of events to help to raise £70,000 to make the building wind and watertight before the onset of winter.
Macmillian Cancer Support is running a UK-wide fundraising coffee morning on the 30th September and you can take part. Pencaitland’s Bowling Club is the venue for this year’s event and it will be open from 9am to 1pm.
Local man Ian Archer, better known as one of the enthusiastic parents behind Pencaitland’s Youth Football Club, spent last Saturday climbing Ben Nevis with friends and colleagues to raise funds for the Survivors of Bereavement by Suicide and Papyrus, dedicated to prevention of young suicide.
