With a queue across the school’s playing field and the weather holding, this year’s Pencaitland PTA Fun Run proved a great success. Just 24 hours earlier it was uncertain what the weather would hold. Many were expecting rain. The previous evening it had been raining, sometimes heavily, so this was a reasonable fear. Yet, come the appointed hour the skies held and there were even moments when the Sun shone through cloudy skies. In the end, for the duration of the Pencaitland PTA Fun Run 2014 the weather held up and no one had to contend with an unwelcome drenching.
As with previous years the action kicks off from 2pm in Pencaitland’s Trevelyan Hall. Groups or families turning up will be given litter pickers and bags before heading off to various parts of, not only Pencaitland, but hopefully some of the other areas covered by the Community Council. We’re particularly keen to have groups or families who want to cover Glenkinchie or New Winton this year.
Each year Pencaitland Community Council seeks to give financial aid towards the work of local groups. If you run, or know those running, a local community group read on to find out how to apply.
