Much is known about the ecology of urban gulls and a huge amount of effort is spent on deterrence, often with little regard for the ecological considerations and in the face of a general decline in non urban populations.
This little project was designed to develop a picture of nesting in a small rural/coastal town with a population that is assumed to be now growing, but no one really knows as the local authority withdrew non statutory control measures at which time, their back of envelope counts reckoned a hundred or so (in other words they had no idea).
