A simple, easy to read WordPress Manual
Hate code, don’t know your PHP from your HTML? Don’t want to search far and wide for a guide? Here is a fairly simple and easy to read guide that should help with creating and editing a new website using the latest tools built into WordPress.
You can read this Easy WP Guide WordPress manual entriely online or download the PDF (at 58Mb it is much larger than our upload limit). While it is completely free you will need to supply an email address, but a throwaway one will suffice.
The guide is designed for first time users and introduces most of the topics you need to start creating with blocks and introduces the new world of Full Site Editing (Ed. not really suitable for beginners.)
But not everyone loves reading manuals. WordPress is easy enough that you can dive straight in. If you are still new to the blocky world of Gutenberg layouts, enable the Block editor in your Writing Settings page and make sure you can switch editors. Just follow the intructions below
STEP 1: GO TO DASHBOARD > SETTINGS > WRITING
In settings Writing enable the Block editor, either by allowing users to switch between them or setting the default (this has no impact on posts created using the classic editor, which in the new world of blocks is a block type in its own right).
STEP 2: EDIT OR CREATE A POST AND SWITCH EDITOR
When you create a new page, or wish to edit an old one, you will be able switch to the block editor and start creating. Nota Bene: A classic block can be converted to blocks, but beware of switching back and forth
