You probably know that East Lothian has for long been described as ‘The Garden of Scotland’. Local gardeners know the quality of the local soil – and you’ve told us you’d be delighted to eat and buy more local food.
We also know that many of you would grow more of your food if there was access to information and advice, tools, land, some form of community garden or allotments.
Sign up to the Household Canny Challenge and you will get practical support to:
- help you to figure out what you want to eat and grow, where, when;
- swap seedlings with others this spring;
- identify what you want to learn and link you with people who can share their skills;
- identify what tools you need and link you with people who can share theirs with you;
- access and eat more locally grown food;
- improve your garden soil and reduce household food waste; and
- prepare and preserve the food you grow to store and share with others.
- start a neighbourhood orchard along your street…and more!
