Dunbar Parking Consultation

East Lothian Council launched a consultation over the parking in Dunbar in which they they wish to address perceived issues regarding parking in the town, full details of which can be found at this link.

As far as the Shore & Neighbourhood group is concerned there is no parking problem in Dunbar but some of the suggestions put forward by the council may cause some; in addition to driving away business from the High street.

We would like to urge all residents who haven’t done so already to complete the questionnaire and write to your local councillor should you have any objections.

Dunbar Community Council has resolved to host a public meeting on

Sunday 8th June 2025 at 7pm at St Annes Church, Westgate, Dunbar  EH42 1JL

We do not want this to be a ‘free for all’, but, rather, an opportunity for each one of you to use 5 minutes (max) to set out your position in respect of the proposed parking charges and for you then to take questions, as a panel, from the floor.

You will have an opportunity to promote your views and to hear from representatives from Dunbar Trades Association, Dunbar High Street residents, Parsonspool residents and Dunbar Shore and Harbour TRA.

We would anticipate that the whole session would last no more than two hours.

The purpose of the session will be to give key players a chance to exchange information before final representations are made to ELC own 16th June.

We very much hope that you will feel able to join us and would appreciate a response before 31st May 2025. If you would like to attend but not take part in the information exchange, that would also be great.
