Following introduction of 20mph limit throughout East Linton conduct enforcement.

Update on priorities:

Youth disorder at High Street or Kellie Road areas

Fewer complaints about groups of youths at the above areas however numerous youth ASB complaints regarding fireworks and egg throwing.

Speeding in East Linton

2 speed checks conducted, no drivers speeding to the extent of tickets being issued but numerous warned, less complaints from members of the public.

Increase quantity of intelligence regarding possible drug dealing and associated ASB

Leaflet drop of some of Lammermuir Crescent, Ash Grove and Pine Street conducted by Community Warden Jimmy Wilson. Increase in flow of intelligence.

Update on priorities:

Lamer Island:

Patrols conducted. Small amounts of potentially youth ASB related litter (alcohol bottles) but no damage. Youths known to be congregating in the vicinity in recent weekends and moved on.

Speeding in East Linton

No further speed checks conducted since last meeting but will conduct further checks in near future.

Parking at Countess Crescent

Foot patrols conducted and various drivers educated/warned. Tickets to be issued in future following period of education.

Other ongoing policing issues:

Increase in recent weeks in calls regarding youths at Kellie Road and Harbour area.
Dedicated patrols over next fortnight relating to Halloween and bonfires/fireworks.

Hedging blocking paths at West Barns and Stenton Contact ELC to report overgrown hedges forcing pedestrians on to the roadway. ELC

Speeding in Innerwick and Stenton. Following a number of complaints conduct speed checks at Innerwick and Stenton Dunbar Community Policing Team.
Monitoring youth behaviour on Friday and Saturday evenings. Locate youths gathering at Lochend woods, Bullet Hill or High Street to limit ASB make sure they are keeping themselves safe. Dunbar Community Policing Team
Big Issue sellers not authorised by The Big Issue. Following a complaint from an East Linton resident link in with ELC trading standards to ascertain if big issues require a street traders licence and if any issued for East Linton. Dunbar Community Policing Team

Other issues discussed and being looked in to:

  • youth ASB/vandalism between Parsonspool and Letham – vandalism to fences etc late at night.  Area to be patrolled late on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Dunbar CBO posters to be updated.
  • Monksmuir, further complaints regarding road safety on the A199, contact ELC regarding lineage which is incomplete and ascertain when last speed survey conducted.

Parking obstruction outside licensed premises Liaise with ELC and landlords of licensed premises in West Barns and East Linton regarding complaints made at CAPP regarding obstructions of footway and roadway caused by patrons vehicles. Dunbar Community Policing Team.

 

ASB in vennels off Dunbar High Street Following complaint received from resident regarding noise, littering and urinating in closes patrols, engagement and enforcement to be conducted. Dunbar Community Policing Team

 

 

Volume of lorries travelling through East Linton and narrow country lanes Large volume of lorries travelling through East Linton and Markle moving soil from Dunbar house building sites.  Link in with site managers to ascertain if alternative more suitable routes are possible. Security of property in Dunbar

In December the Dunpender CC representative reported that numerous East Linton residents are complacent with security – open garages, unlocked bikes on front gardens etc. Posters to be displayed on community notice boards and shops encouraging people to lock up their property. This has been done. Dunbar representative now voicing same concerns so crime prevention initiative to be conducted: posters, media, social media etc

Vehicle associated anti social behaviour at Linkfield Car Park, John Muir Country Park.

Takeaway food wrappers etc being thrown from parked cars and same cars reportedly doing “doughnuts” on the grass. Area to be given attention to identify those responsible.

Youths crossing railway line.

Request that BTP assist by attending, or providing an input to be presented to Dunbar Grammar School assemblies on the dangers of crossing the railway line.
