AGREED PRIORITIES FROM 13th October 2022

Note of Meeting on the 13th of October

1. There were no Apologies and Cllr Hampshire gave an update regarding the difficulties in the availability of Police Officers.

2. Members agreed the meeting Note.

3. Police gave an update on the reasons for the non-availability of Community Officers. However Cameron Tait gave an assurance that he is now our Community Officer and will be available for all our meetings.  

4. The Police gave the CAP an update on incidents that had happened in the Ward since the last meeting.

5. Community Issues

(1) Community members still had ongoing concerns regarding speeding around the ward. They identified priority areas for speed checks as Belhaven High Street, Back Road, North Road, Queens Road, Spott Road, Kellie Road, Brodie Road and the Villages would also like them all to be 20mph. The speed at Stenton was mentioned due to the long straight road as you approach from the East. Traffic Calming could be considered at the Entrance. 

(2) Community Members were concerned about the number of Cyclists who were using their bikes without lights when it was dark.

(3) The Community Members were concerned about incidents of ASB across the ward. They police were given information on several locations were people had reports of ASB. They Police agreed to make this a priority for their attention over the next few months. The Woodland at the Curling Pond and the Jampot are regular gathering points.

(6). The members agreed to only have three priorities for the next two months.

(1) The police will try to reduce the number of Cyclists without lights     

(2) The police will try and target speeding in the areas identified by members.

(3) The police will try to concentrate on ASB across the Ward
