The major cycling movement is between South Dunbar and the Primary School. This journey is of an ideal distance for cycling, and the routes are suitable.
Perhaps as a knock-on effect, cycling to recreational amenities north of the railway line, such as Lauderdale Park, the library, the pool and tennis courts, and the High Street, is also becoming more popular.
Although cycling rates to the Grammar School are still low, there is evidence to show that this is increasing as pupils involved in the high rate of cycling at the Primary School transfer to the Grammar School.
