Nourish Scotland 2013 Conference: What would it take for everyone in Scotland to eat well and sustainably?

Volunteer at Belhaven Community Garden

If you would like to get involved in the garden and to help us get it ready for it’s opening 10th August please get in contact with info@sustainingdunbar.org

Things to be done at Belhaven Community Garden:

  • Each morning open poly tunnel
  • Each evening close water (if required) and close poly tunnel
  • Build raised beds, prepare soil and seed with vegetables.
  • Build a long narrow raised bed along wall side of poly tunnel and plant remaining Tomato plants
  • Make 18” cardboard skirts for around each fruit tree
  • Paint container gray/ green asap
  • Prepare and plant inner ring of the sensory garden
  • Level paths into the garden area
  • Weed the entrance humps of soil (both sides)
  • Collect and plant wildflower plugs for the wildflower areas.
  • Collect plastic bottles for the bottle green house at Dunbar Primary School
