Todmorden – A Local Food Revolution

Once a front garden this space is a beautiful fully edible garden for anyone in community to use.

Todmorden is a small Yorkshire town that has revolutionised the idea of local food.  A small group of dedicated locals with a vision has turned Todmorden into a town bursting with local produce around every corner.  After just 3 years they have set up a community market garden, community chicken coop, food growing spaces all over town and much more.

A team of over 600 volunteers support the work with projects going from strength to strength.

Here is the founder discussing what it is all about:

If you would like to get involved with any of these projects or if you have some ideas of your own please email Janet McDougall Welch janetwelch@sustainingdunbar.org
