Dunbar Primary Trips All Modes

Dunbar Primary School is one of the largest primary schools in Scotland. 96% of its pupils live 2km or less from the school, so there is a very high level of pupils travelling to school by active modes such as walking, cycling and scooting.

Cycling is a popular mode of travel for pupils from the newer residential areas in the south of the town. This journey is an ideal distance for cycling, with wide footpaths and roads.

Walking remains the main mode for pupils from the older areas to the north of the railway line.

The narrower roads and footpaths and the lack of a cycle path on Belhaven Road mean that there are fewer safe routes for children to cycle on.
