We’ve automated a weekly snapshot of the data, in a format called geojson and rendered on the front page of this site (and also below).
Anyone can download a weekly snapshot directly.
The format for the url is:
https://ourlocality.org/nls-fieldnames/fieldnames_2025-12-07.geojson
note: the date should be a Sunday, unlike
the example above
For convenience, the latest snapshot can downloaded always thus:
https://ourlocality.org/nls-fieldnames/latest.geojson
If importing into a new project, in QGIS remember to set the CRS first to ESPG 277000. From QGIS, or a number of online services, you can extract a csv or txt file, which you can interrogate using excel.
Our routine now has:
- a deterministic data refresh (following the Sunday backup of the NLS hosted data set)
- deterministic legend ordering – sorted by Farm Name
- zero manual UI intervention
- an auditable pipeline
