What do you think would make it easier to get around Dunbar and the surrounding areas? Because Dunbar is a small town, most places would be within easy reach for pedestrians and cyclists if we could make sure they have easy, safe routes. Residents also deserve a better bus service, with links to essential services like health centres and schools. If we could achieve this, less driving would mean lower levels pollution, improved health, friendlier and safer communities and less dependence on cars – which are increasingly expensive.

Before we try to move things forward, we want to know out what changes you would like to see in Dunbar. When it comes to this area, you’re the experts, so if you have a few minutes, please fill out our on-line survey, or email judy@sustainingdunbar.org with your suggestions of things we can try to make leaving the car at home easier.

Thanks!

20s Plenty for Dunbar

Lowering speed limits from 30mph to 20 mph decreases pedestrian accidents, reduces emissions, and makes for quieter, pleasanter neighbourhoods. Crucially for Dunbar, fast cars makes the roads feel unsafe for young cyclists, encouraging them to ride on the pavements. 20s Plenty for Dunbar wants to create a town where all cyclists will feel safe on the roads.

You can add your voice to the campaign for lower speeds by joining the Facebook group 20s Plenty for Dunbar. (For more information and statistics see www.20splentyforus.org.uk )
