For some reason the regeneration of the water body has been arrested, so much so that there is almost no liminal vegetation growth. The restoration plan doesn't seem to have been thought through. While there are some calling for this area to be a dedicated sports area, given the industrial neighbours, this doesn't seem like a wise location. However it would benefit from explicit long term protection, but this might foresee the water body size being decreased, with islands created and a landscape improvement plan.
