New Fire and Smoke Alarm Regulations February 2021

The attached information is circulated on behalf of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and details the forthcoming requirements regarding fire and smoke alarms in Scottish homes.

These regulations come into force in February 2021.

The new standard requires :-

  • One smoke alarm installed in the room most frequently used for general daytime living purposes
  • One smoke alarm in every circulation space on each storey, such as hallways and landings
  • One heat alarm installed in every kitchen
  • All alarms should be ceiling mounted and interlinked
  • Carbon monoxide detectors to be fitted where there is a carbon-fuelled appliance (such as boilers, fires (including open fires), heaters and stoves) or a flue

MISSING GIRL APPEAL – Ivana Scott, Port Seton

Officers in East Lothian are appealing for information to help trace a girl reported missing from Port Seton.
Ivana Scott, who is 13 years old was last seen around midnight on Tuesday 13th October 2020 at her home address. She is described as white Scottish, 5 foot 5, slim build with brown hair usually worn in a ponytail. It is believed she may be wearing navy blue jogging bottoms and a grey hooded sweatshirt.
