The Ridge Training

The Ridge provides access to training and support for people who live in Dunbar and the surrounding area and we aim especially to develop the skills and employability of marginalised and vulnerable local people. It is important that we develop practical supports to allow these more vulnerable members of our community to overcome barriers in accessing training and necessary interventions, to facilitate the fulfilment of their potential.

We have a passion for our locality and the issues that surround it.  We strive to protect our local built heritage by creating a base of skills and knowledge to carry out restoration and maintenance of historic structures. Restoration and maintenance is not enough and we consult regularly with professionals and the wider community to develop business uses for some restored structures, to create jobs and to provide income to make our projects sustainable.

It is hugely important for us that we stimulate our local economy by improving Dunbar town centre as a tourist attraction, as well as an attractive place for local people to live, work and shop.
