High hopes for local walking and cycling links: Public Meeting

Only two miles from the edge of Dunbar, but residents of Spott and other nearby villages have the huge barrier of not having any safe routes for cycling and walking.  Spott Community Association is seeking to change that, and enable local people to be able to leave their car at home when they want to.

The Association has been awarded £25,000 to carry out a feasibility study.  Chair Anne Lyall said “We’re really pleased to have secured this significant funding, and are excited to see what solutions are proposed.”

A project launch event will be held at Spott Village Hall on 4th February at 7:30pm.  A presentation on the project will be given and there will be an opportunity for Questions and Answers.  All are welcome.

Spott Community Association is looking forward to seeing what is proposed and will consult the community and report back with some options. Once a preferred option has been decided on, an application will be made for further funding to carry out more detailed work.
