{"id":1306,"date":"2012-04-17T17:37:39","date_gmt":"2012-04-17T16:37:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cloudcarbon.co.uk\/?p=1306"},"modified":"2019-05-19T09:01:08","modified_gmt":"2019-05-19T08:01:08","slug":"pencaitland-traffic-nears-4000-vehicles-daily","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourlocality.org\/pencaitland\/pencaitland-traffic-nears-4000-vehicles-daily\/","title":{"rendered":"Pencaitland traffic nears 4,000 vehicles daily"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Residents of Pencaitland may have noticed the recent appearance of a pair of black wires running across the main road in the village near to the entrance to the Carriage House.<\/strong><\/p>\n<table align=\"right\" border=\"0\">\n<tr>\n<td><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourlocality.org\/pencaitland\/files\/2012\/04\/cars300px.jpg\" alt=\"ELC carried out a new Traffic Survey in Pencaitland in March.\" width=\"300\" height=\"229\" \/><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/table>\n<p>This was part of a recent road traffic survey being carried out by East Lothian Council over the course of a week in March.<\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the interesting stats to come out of the survey which ran from the 2nd to the 8th.<\/p>\n<p>The average speed of vehicles was <strong>31.1mph<\/strong> which is generally good news. However, this is an average so some would have been travelling faster, whilst others would be slower. <\/p>\n<p>Of course, the location is fairly close to the lights at the bridge which may be an influencing factor in terms of speed measured at this point.<\/p>\n<p>The percentage of heavy goods vehicle traffic remains fairly constant at <strong>11 percent<\/strong> out of a total 5 day average count of all vehicles of <strong>3,900<\/strong>.
