{"id":1017,"date":"2012-03-09T12:10:28","date_gmt":"2012-03-09T11:10:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cloudcarbon.co.uk\/?p=1017"},"modified":"2019-05-19T09:01:14","modified_gmt":"2019-05-19T08:01:14","slug":"parallel-footpath-plans-published-on-elc-website","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/ourlocality.org\/pencaitland\/parallel-footpath-plans-published-on-elc-website\/","title":{"rendered":"Parallel footpath plans published on ELC website"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Anyone interested in the recent preliminary work in and around the grounds of Pencaitland Parish Church can now view detailed planning application information on the East Lothian Council website.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>These plans stem from safety concerns originating in 2008 over the narrowness of the main road footpath and are the culmination of many years of discussion and debate amongst interested parties, including the Church, the Community Council, East Lothian Council, the school, Pencaitland&#8217;s Fatal Footpath Campaign and other interested parties.<\/p>\n<p>There are two applications:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Formation of hardstanding areas and part demolition of wall &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/pa.eastlothian.gov.uk\/online-applications\/applicationDetails.do?activeTab=summary&amp;keyVal=M0ENL9GN07V00\"><strong>link<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<li>Resurfacing of existing footpaths, formation of new footpaths, car parking area, erection of fencing, gates, wall, installation of lighting and a change of use from domestic ground to public ground and public ground to domestic ground &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/pa.eastlothian.gov.uk\/online-applications\/applicationDetails.do;jsessionid=6C346CD51BDFBAEC7054EDA021F2E7BE?activeTab=summary&amp;keyVal=LYD0W1GN07V00\"><strong>link<\/strong><\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The first application relates to the creation of an opening to a wall to the eastern perimeter of the church grounds, but it is the second application where the bulk of the changes which affect the community are explained.
