A New East Lothian Scenic Line Leaflet

ELCRP has produced the Scenic Line leaflet, for day visitors and tourists since 2016 to promote more sustainable transport to the county. Based on an original design by Heather Christie, the Edinburgh based graphic designer and artist Moira Nichol was asked to refocus the leaflet more explicitly on local heritage – both natural and historical, highlighting locations and venues within walking and cycling distance of each station. Most of the points of interest are free. Scotrail and Transpennine provided some financial support.

To visit East Lothian you can leave the car behind. There’s a rich scenery to see from the train as you journey from Edinburgh into East Lothian, giving beautiful views of the coast and countryside en-route to the seaside towns of North Berwick or Dunbar. Take time to explore, experience and enjoy East Lothian on foot or by bicycle from one of the train stations. Pick up the John Muir Way all along the coast or explore East Lothian’s growing path network. It takes approximately 35 minutes to reach North Berwick by train and around 25 minutes to Dunbar. Train times and ticket information (including costs) are available from scotrail.co.uk. Information on buses that serve East Lothian can be found on eastlothian.gov.uk.
