Lignieres twinning group passed through East Linton Station

Some of the Lignieres twinning group passed through East Linton Station, on their way to Edinburgh. The cost of their train fares for the day was partly funded by the East Lothian Community Rail Partnership. Thanks also to Transpennine Express who contributed 10 return tickets.

A substantial group of people from the town in France visited Dunbar to celebrate a 30-year old link. Dunbar and district began twinning with Lignieres in 1994 and many friendships have been established. To celebrate the milestone, a delegation of over 50 from Lignieres and the surrounding villages visited between October 24 to 29.
