\"DAFTAOn Sunday more than 80 people came along to Hallhill to walk the DAFTAs red carpet, watch the shortlisted films and vote for their favourites.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

We had some brilliant entries this year with surreal Lego stop motion animations,\u00a0fashion advice for soft toys, a peek inside the mind of a sleeping dog, an eye opening film about Finland, charming puppetry about sea shore litter, a great documentary raising awareness of the recent Ecuador earthquake \u00a0and finishing up with an illustrated version of Donald Where’s yer Troosers?<\/p>\n

Thank you to everyone who entered for the huge amount of work and creativity that went into making these films. \u00a0You can see them all here on the DAFTAS 2016 Vimeo Channel.<\/a><\/p>\n

This year films were judged in 4 categories: \u00a0Under 12s Fiction, Over 16s, Documentary (all ages) and Collaborations – where an adult has played a significant role in creating the film.<\/p>\n

Under 12s<\/span><\/p>\n

Dream on Doggie<\/b>\u00a0by Ellen Stewart and Ruaridh Page. \u00a0Another crowd pleaser from the multi award winning team of Stewart and Page:\u00a0Maddy the greyhound’s dream where animals talk like humans and even Maddy herself make a bizarre appearance. \u00a0<\/em>\u00a0Watch it\u00a0here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Documentary (all ages)<\/span><\/p>\n

Dunbar and the Ecuador Earthquake<\/b>\u00a0by Anushka and Orla \u00a0Demer. \u00a0 \u00a0 A very accomplished documentary about the effort in Dunbar to raise money for the Ecuador Earthquake Relief Fund. \u00a0Watch it here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

16 and over<\/span><\/p>\n

Finland \u00a0<\/b>by Michael Purves. \u00a0A film with a really professional feel to it that captures a fun filled holiday to the lakeland area of Finland. \u00a0 Watch it here.<\/a><\/p>\n

Collaboration<\/span><\/p>\n

Donald Where’s Yer Troosers?<\/strong>\u00a0By P6C Dunbar Primary School and Susan Mowatt produced during the Artist in Residence Programme. \u00a0An illustrated version of the famous Any Stewart song. \u00a0Watch and sing along here!<\/a><\/p>\n
