In 2010 we screened a film called Dogtooth which was written and directed by Yorgos Lanthimos. \u00a0Dogtooth was one of those films that sharply divided the audience between those who thought it was fantastic and those who thought it was one of the worst things they had ever seen. \u00a0The audience scores were all 9s and 10s or 1s and 2s. \u00a0Nothing in between. \u00a0In the past 7 years I have had more conversations about Dogtooth – either about how great it was or how awful – than any of the other 100 plus films we have screened. \u00a0So, for better or for worse we are now screening Yorgos Lanthimos’ new film The Lobster. \u00a0I am hoping it will go down as well (and as badly) as Dogtooth.<\/p>\n
