Exciting News!

Young scotDunbar Primary School’s Ecology Umbrella Group are invited to the Youth Discussion competition awards

A few months back we entered Scotland’s Environment Web Youth Discussion competition.

Now we have been invited to the competition Awards Ceremony which is being held on Tuesday 17th June 2014 from 10am – 3.30pm at Our Dynamic Earth, Edinburgh. The event will not only celebrate the success of the winners, but will also recognise the effort put in by all entrants and the help given by teachers, parents and carers.   The schedule for the day  includes fun workshops, lunch, a chance to take part in an interactive question and answer session and the presentation of prizes by Paul Wheelhouse MSP, Minister for Environment & Climate Change.

On the day, we will have the opportunity to view all the entries  and be one of the first to find out who has won as the winners are announced.

You can now view our entry online by visiting www.youngreporters.org.uk.  From here, you can browse using the map or list view and then click on an entry to find out more about it  and the inspiration behind it. There are a wide range of entries including  posters, blogs, videos, animations and articles all of which highlight the environmental concerns of young people across Scotland.

The winners of the two top prizes – £1000 for best group entry and £100 for best overall individual entry –  will be announced live at the event.
