It looks like local jobs are important, according to an East Lothian Council Residents Satisfaction Survey in 2011.

The Residents Satisfaction Survey published in July 2011 identified the key factors that local residents considered to be in most need of improving. The top priority was “jobs for local people” (32% in East Lothian) and 47% in the Dunbar and East Linton ward. “ The biggest issues for respondents overall are with regards to unemployment with 38% of respondents stating this is quite a serious or very serious problem (a significant increase from 18% in 2009)” This figure rises to 61% in the Dunbar and East Linton ward.

Sustaining Dunbar asked local people about what changes they would like to see in our area. As a result the Local Resilience Action Plan was produced. What sort of jobs do we want?
