No priorities created at last meeting due to low attendance.

In relation to previous priorities a speed check was carried out for an hour yesterday at the A1087 by the Robertson homes, one ticket issued and numerous drivers warned for travelling just over the limit.

Countess Road crossing: following on from a number of complaints police, council and representative of DPS parents council are conducting a site visit tomorrow morning.

Youth issues:  marked improvement in number of complaints

Following recent increase in reports of youth ASB on Friday and Saturday evening endeavour to trace and deal with youths prior to drunken ASB occurs.

Following introduction of 20mph limit throughout East Linton conduct enforcement.

Update on priorities:

Lamer Island:

Patrols conducted. Small amounts of potentially youth ASB related litter (alcohol bottles) but no damage. Youths known to be congregating in the vicinity in recent weekends and moved on.

Speeding in East Linton

No further speed checks conducted since last meeting but will conduct further checks in near future.

Parking at Countess Crescent

Foot patrols conducted and various drivers educated/warned. Tickets to be issued in future following period of education.

Other ongoing policing issues:

Increase in recent weeks in calls regarding youths at Kellie Road and Harbour area.
Dedicated patrols over next fortnight relating to Halloween and bonfires/fireworks.

Monitoring youth behaviour on Friday and Saturday evenings. Locate youths gathering at Lochend woods, Bullet Hill or High Street to limit ASB make sure they are keeping themselves safe. Dunbar Community Policing Team
Big Issue sellers not authorised by The Big Issue. Following a complaint from an East Linton resident link in with ELC trading standards to ascertain if big issues require a street traders licence and if any issued for East Linton. Dunbar Community Policing Team

Other issues discussed and being looked in to:

  • youth ASB/vandalism between Parsonspool and Letham – vandalism to fences etc late at night.  Area to be patrolled late on Friday and Saturday nights.
  • Dunbar CBO posters to be updated.
  • Monksmuir, further complaints regarding road safety on the A199, contact ELC regarding lineage which is incomplete and ascertain when last speed survey conducted.
