Belhaven Community Garden Update

We are resuming regular work days at Belhaven Community Garden starting this Sunday from 10:30 to 12:30. There are lots of jobs to do both light and or heavy.
The fruit tree planting day was a great success before Christmas and we have a few more trees to plant. We also have more raised beds to build and ongoing weeding.
Paths are being built this week and next linking with the existing hospital path and parking to the Sensory Garden, up to the raised beds and a loop around the orchard.
The inner rings of the Sensory Garden are also being made to be wheelchair accessible and the surface is the colour of red sandstone. It is looking so beautiful!
Flower bulbs are starting to pop through the soil as are the shoots of garlic, onions and broad beans – it won’t be long now before spring is here 🙂
The next Working Group meeting will be 8th of February at 10:30 in the poly tunnel to plan this years crops and activities. All welcome and please do invite anyone you think may be interested in getting involved.
In the meantime – we look forward to seeing you one of these Sundays at Belhaven Community Garden.
