Dunbar Writers meet on alternate Thursdays in the Gibb Room, Dunbar Library, from 7.30pm to 9.30pm. Membership is free, and all are welcome.

We have around 20 members, and all writing genres are included. Our aims are to provide support and encouragement for writers in the community.
Meetings usually include: a brief update on events and news from members, a short author biography, a writing exercise and a ‘read-round’ of writing on a theme set at the previous meeting. Members comment on the pieces read, and if more detailed analysis and comment is wanted, the writer brings multiple copies.
Meetings are led by a different member each time, and the facilitators set the writing exercise and choose the theme for reading at the next meeting.
