A simple, elegant, environmentally sustainable structure, designed to accommodate the cinemax auditorium, would be sited in a fully landscaped coastal garden with teaching and seating spaces.
The Site and Building
The site that we have identified as offering the best potential for this project, is the old Amusement Arcade site at Lamer Street on the East Beach. This site is privately owned and is currently the subject of a planning application for seven houses.

The Shore and Harbour Neighbourhood Group is behind an exciting concept to develop the currently derelict site adjacent to the Playgarden at Lamer Street.
We have it in mind that this site should be the focus for a small but special attraction which will hopefully appeal to both Dunbar residents and tourists to the town, alike.
Leigh Bradley has completed her report for us on the Monument which we have submitted to the Harbour Trust today in the hope that it will be of help to them in their deliberations as to how best to restore and maintain this part of Dunbar’s heritage. Thanks to our local council we now have two planters in position at the north end of the East Beach as we lend our support to the Dunbar in Bloom project.

Our thanks go to East Lothian Council for moving so quickly to place a litter bin close to where Woodbush joins the East Beach at Woodbush Brae. No excuse for us dog-owners now !
The dog fouling around Woodbush appears to have been much reduced recently which is most encouraging.
