The Shore and Harbour Neighbourhood Group is behind an exciting concept to develop the currently derelict site adjacent to the Playgarden at Lamer Street.
We have it in mind that this site should be the focus for a small but special attraction which will hopefully appeal to both Dunbar residents and tourists to the town, alike.
Consequently, we have come up with the idea of establishing a Coastlife Centre in a coastal garden. The building need not be large for it is based on space-saving video technology which will generate 360deg films about the natural environment above and below water along the shore.
We have just applied for a grant to bring a prototype to Dunbar in the late autumn. If you want to understand the concept, try following the video links.

We have already had lots of meetings and discussions with local people and councillors, all of which have been really positive. There have been two suggestions that the site would be better as car parking but we think that parking should be on the west side of town and that people should walk through the town, hopefully buying their picnics, spades and coffees on the way. You will all be welcome to visit the trial screen but if any feedback now would be very welcome!
