Dunbar Allotments and Gardens Association was formed following a public meeting in December 2009. A constitution is being drawn up, which will be ratified at a future Annual General Meeting. A steering group consisting of the following members was set up in January 2010.

Discussions with Council officials and Councillors to identify possible future allotment sites in Dunbar are ongoing. The Council’s Dunbar area waiting list contains over 70 names, so the demand for allotment plots is considerable.
Allotment holders at the private allotment site at Thistly Cross are deemed to be members of the Association.

The Thistly Cross Allotments are at the Thistly Cross roundabout, between the Rickerby shed and the railway line. They are private allotments, and there is a waiting list. They are managed by George Barton (jerusalemgeorge@googlemail.com). I’m afraid I don’t know what the situation is with East Lothian Council allotments – you’d best contact the Council.
